Volunteer

As an all-volunteer organization, the Friends of the Shelter team welcomes your assistance with our fundraising efforts. We frequently need additional team members to assist with event planning, marketing communications, securing corporate donations and on-site event coordination.

We are particularly in need of volunteers to work in the Friends of the Shelter Shop, in the lobby of the Franklin County Dog Shelter.  The Shop is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.  The shifts are only 2.5 hours long, and it's very rewarding to donate your time knowing that you're helping to save the life of a sick Shelter dog.  And, by working in the Shop, you will see many adoptable dogs leaving for their new forever homes with smiles on their faces!

If you’re interested in becoming a Friends of the Shelter volunteer, please email either Cheryl Mandell, Volunteer Coordinator, cheryl@friendsoftheshelter.org or Janet Hawk, Director, janet@friendsoftheshelter.org.
